We Shall Overcome is a picture book written and illustrated by Bryan Collier that pays homage to the Civil Rights gospel anthem of the same title. The picture book illuminates the lyrics of the ballad by featuring a mesh of historic moments from the twentieth-century movement and pivotal moments of the present day. Detailing demonstrations both big and small, Collier brings hope to generations young and old as the fight for justice continues with his powerfully tender images.
The Tangled Web is the third volume of Drew Weing’s graphic novel series The Creepy Case Files of Margo Maloo. Kids ages 8-12 can follow along as Margo’s assistant, Charles, is sent on assignment to Echo City’s mysterious underground monster metropolis. With a settlement of giant spiders in danger of being destroyed by relentless construction workers, it’s up to Margo and Charles to save the species, but their salvation lies in the mysterious Downside.
Dinosaurs on Kitty Island is the second volume to Michael Slack’s picture book series Kitties and Dinosaurs. When the dinos of Dinosaur Island get hungry for adventure, they decide to escape to neighboring Kitty Island for some fenile fun with their new kitty friends.
